Well when the Haynes says to use a large screwdriver or chisel to pry the drivers side axle off they weren't kidding...

So I finally figured it out, I used a big air hammer chisel, good thing I'm not keeping the car, but I could've sold those axles for a few bucks...live and learn!

The drivers side control arm just fell out for the most part so it wasn't me on the pax side, it was the bushings that were totally fried. Good to know!! :)

When you replace control arm, get oe. I went the cheap route and the bushings are toast after about 15-20x miles.
The Haynes is very little help with this car.
You will not have fun with the EVAP. Might as well change rear cam seals and all the hoses when you do that because you'll have half the engine bay torn apart.
