Is the 2.4L engine in my '02 V70XC an "interference" engine? Will the valves contact the pistons if the timing belt fails? Just curious, I like to do all the work myself, but this is the first Volvo I've owned, and am just getting into having to torque such items as oil drain plugs, filter housings, and wheel lugs! (Bought a Torkstik). Any special tools needed to do the belt change? Hope Haynes comes out with a manual before I need to do any major work.

Yes sir, it is. I haven't done my timing belt yet, so I don't know the list of tools. (Coming up on 70k miles, ...3k more, so I've soon got to make a decision to do it myself or have it done.)PGFaini wrote:Is the 2.4L engine in my '02 V70XC an "interference" engine?
