Reset check engine light
Hello, I am new to this sight. I own a 2002 V70 T5 with about 103k. I have owned it since about 30k. It has been the most dependable vehicle I've owned. In 5 years I have only done three repairs. The first was an antenna for the ignition switch. The second was a major manifold repair that cost about $900.00. The repair I did today is the one I have a question about. The vehicle would not idle properly and shuddered violently when I tried to drive it. After some investigating I decided to buy a coil and hope that was the problem. It was, but now the check engine light is on. I know this is probably a topic that gets discussed by beginners all the time, so I apologize if it is redundant.

Your vehicle is an OBD2 car and will require a code scanner to clear or read the code. Local auto parts stores like Advance or Autozone will read the code for you but are hit and miss on if they will clear it for you. There is a sizable fine for clearing codes but no enforcement of this law that I have ever seen at a parts store. You can buy your own OBD2 code reader/clearer starting at about $30. If you are a good with electronics you can build one for about $10 .

Thanks for your help. I will see what I can find and post what I end up with.
