Wanted - Quad headlight units of mid-80s 740

Post by Wekke »

Hi,

Werner here, from Belgium. I'm new here, and about to get a "new" daily runabout, a 1986 Volvo 740 sedan. Being european spec, it has the large one-piece headlights.

But I prefer the look of the US-spec mid-eighties 740. They had 4 separate headlights set in 'chrome' trim.
(see top of picture)

Does anyone here have a nice clean headlight set like the one on the top in this pic, USA spec, for sale? And a PayPal account... I'll also need to know how much the postage cost to Belgium would be.

What I need = the complete headlight assemblies. Meaning: entire light unit housing, mounting brackets, bright "chrome" trim bezels, parking lamps and turn signal lamps (=lights at left+right corner and the horizontal light below the headlights).
Please make sure the 'chrome' trim looks clean and the parking lamps and turn signal lamps are not cracked.
If the sealed beam bulbs don't make a lot of price difference, leave them in, maybe they fit my Dodge ;-)
But if they make a big difference in price or shipping cost; I don't really need those.
(Mine now looks exactly like the car at the bottom)

Thanks,
Wekke

PS: If anyone is near a junkyard, happens to go there and find the headlights I need (see first post): I'll add an extra $10 to the price & shipping for your effort of buying them for me & sending them to me.
DO let me know his price and the mailing cost first, before I decide to go ahead with anything. Some of these used car parts guys are outrageously expensive: I had one quote me a price for headlights that was more then I paid for the entire car, haha!)

Are you still looking for the headlight setup?
I have a complete setup for both sides.
Did you need the grille also?

Hi, I'm Mikael from sweden.
I'm a huge volvo enthusiast and when you are reading this i'm searching for exactly what you are describing above. The volvo 740 quad headlights. I need a kit for a volvo 745 GL - 89.
I know very well that anyone with a bit of luck in usa can dig up a pair of these. If you find any that would fit a 89 that would be awesome. I also know that any american would say these aren't worth getting cause they think they are less functional and that the euro kit is better. But i don't want the euro headlights, i wan't those bad ass quad headlights. Here in sweden, they are the rarest lights to come across. They sell from one swede to another for insane amounts. Cause they aren't the best in function but they give the car an awesome look. They transform the car from an old car that grandpa used to own to a rare bad ass bass-wagon.

So if you got a pair for and volvo 745 GL-89 send me a message and i pay the shipping and a little extra.

I find it kind of funny that people from overseas see the quad headlights as more modern! Over here, I think they look very dated and "grandpa-like," but that is probably because we're so used to them in the US.

To each their own! :-)
