I've lurked on here quite a bit, and I have to say that this is one of the most comprehensive car sites I've ever seen. I guess I should introduce myself with a little about my Volvo history. I am on my fourth Volvo, a 1994 850 wagon with, well the odo says 118,000, but the gear was broken for several months before I got around to replacing it so it's probably closer to 125,000. It has been in the family since new. My grandfather bought it, and when he passed in 1997, it went to my parents. I have had it now for about 3 years. Getting rid of this car would be like selling one of my kids, so I'm thinking I will keep it until my son is old enough to drive in five years, give it to him and get a newer wagon. I'm thinking an R wagon at this point. Anyway, the car will be on it's 4th generation in my family at that point. I've done the maintenance on this car it's whole life, so I've replaced every normal wear part at one (or two) time(s) or another. Hopefully I can contribute something to the site to help others. This is actually my second post. The first was an OEM radio compatibility question, so if you have insight on that, any help would be appreciated. See you around.

1994 850 Wagon - My car is on it's 3rd generation in my family. "I don't look at it as doing repairs, I see it as doing a complete restoration one part at at time."

Glad you finally decided to join! Welcome to the site!
We welcome any knowledge you have to contribute, either about your 850 or any of the RWD models you've owned in the past. And feel free to ask any questions
I own my family's first Volvo, but my dad (and I) owned an old Saab older than I was for 22 years, and that was my introduction to the Swedes. After owning a Japanese car after that, I couldn't help but want to own another Swedish one. And, well, here I am.
