on your 760 their are 2 fuel pumps. one under the car, below driver seat with a fuel filter held by a sheet metal frame (3 bolts). the other is in the tank. this can be accessed from the trunk. deep in the trunk towards drivers side is an access panel held by 4 screws. by removing the panel their are several hoses and an electrical connector to power pump and sending unit.
after removing all hoses etc., the entire unit attaches to the tank by a 4" plastic nut. cuation ought to be taken in removing this nut.
once nut is removed yuo can pull the entire unit @ half way out before pump hits tank. you will than need to turn the unit 180 degrees to pull it out the rest of the way.

p.s.
you must first determine which pump is bad.
often when the tank pump goes, engine will run rough below 2,000 rpm.

First of all, do a keywork search on my forum name "kmaniac" to see my previous posts on fuel filters and fuel pumps.

Your main fuel filter is next to the main fuel pump, in the cradle, under the car, below the driver's seat. This is the filter which is routinely changed by mechanics during periodic maintenance. Should you try to replace this filter yourself, you must do the following:

Pull out floor carpeting in our trunk and locate the hatch above the rear axel on the driver's side. Remove the four bolts and reveal your fuel tank pick up and sender unit assembly. Disconnect the main fuel line from the tank before you disconnect the fuel line to the main fuel filter. If you don't, you will siphon the remaining gas from your tank all over the floor. Also, work in a well ventilated area or outside.

My previous posts will describe fuse checks and explain the role of both fuel pumps and both fuel filters. Any questions, just post a reply.
