I'm trying to replace my fuel filter. I was able to take off the inlet hose but having a hard tiome taking off the outlet hose. Any suggestions?

You need a special tool to get it off. I'm guessing you have a pre-2001 model. They fixed it after that. You MIGHT be able to borrow one from a dealer or shop.
