Hi...I'm new here;)
Okay, so we just purchased a 95 CX90 V8 with 49,000 miles less than 60 days ago. This morning when I looked outside I noticed the lights were flashing on and off, hazard lights I guess. My husband went out and tried to start it and nothing. Tried jumping it on several occasions and still nothing. Any ideas why this is happening? This is SOOOOOO disappointing!! We were totally in love with this car and now this:( Help please!!!

Alarm system was triggered (flashing lights). Was it hit?
When you say "nothing", does it turn over and not catch?

Matthew, no is does not turn over. My husband has tried to reset the alarm system with the key and the remote, but still nothing. Info screen says "Start Prohibited, Try Again." It doesn't appear to have been hit, but who knows.

Jump it again. But before trying to start it, and with the XC90's battery connected to the "donor" car's battery, get out of the Volvo, lock the door with the key. Then unlock the door, get in, and try to start it.
It's in "safe" mode and thinks its being stolen. The low battery serves to confuse the issue further. You have to reset the alarm by locking and then unlocking the doors while the system has sufficient power.
That's my take from similar experiences with my 850. You might find more explicit instructions or understanding in your owners manual.
