2000 S80 Turn Signal Wire Connection
I lost the entire driver side turn signal, bulb socket and wiring harness/connector (there are just 3 wires hanging in the wind). I have the new lense and socket for the repair. The socket has a 3 prong male type connector. I have been unable to find a pigtail or female connector part that will allow me to attach the new parts to the existing bare wires. How can I complete this repair?

Thanks to Sam in parts @ Volvo of Dallas! He helped identify the correct parts needed for this repair. You need 3 repair terminal wires, he had 3 of Part #30656689 on hand. The 3 terminals fit into what Volvo calls a 'Insulator' part #978139(aks: plastic connector piece the 3 prong terminals wires fit into). When all 3 terminals are pushed into the insulator/connector it fits perfectly into the Lamp Socket Part #9178546 (aka: plastic turn signal bulb connector that goes into the plastic cover assembly). Cut the termianl wires to fit and use a butt/crimp connector to splice the the new wires to the old. Note: The green wire goes in the middle. I had to use trial and error for the black and white wires on the side. Missed on the first try but it worked on the 2nd.
This saved me! We lost our turn signal somewhere between CT and Montreal and just needed the prong, 9456432, replaced on one of the wires (we ordered a replacement turn signal light). Volvo said we would have to have the whole harness replaced which would cost about $500. Thanks for posting!!!
