s70 problem

Post by optical »

If somebody faced the problem I'm having?
I have s70 1998. When I start my car in a morning the strange nose occurs on the driver side in an engine compartment. It lasts in about 1 min. and gone. The sound is like a high level whistle, very loud, even I can hear it from the cabin. It looks to me as an electrical motor has a broken or threadbared bearing. What can it be? It does not effect the drivig and the engine works fine.
I appreciate somebody's help.

Thank you Matt for your referencies.
However, it is not clear for me what is the source of this nose.
As I mentioned it definetely comes from the driver's side of engine.
Does air pump sound realistic?

You probably have an air pump which is located below the battery They have been known to have water accumulate in the pump.
