99 S80 T6 HU-801 wouldn't eject CD

Had the all encompassing CD ERROR code and the CD wouldn't eject.
Found a shop locally in Surrey, BC Canada in case any one is interested. The guy repaired it for CAD$201.60 including all taxes.
Like I said before editing this message, he only takes 'cash' but seemed to be very capable. He gave a 90 day guarantee.

Oh and by the way, after disconnecting and reconnecting the climate control module and the audio module (CD and radio), I had the Service SRS urgent message show up and then a while later a CEL and when I got home from the shop I used the BSR PPC Diagnostic tool to check for DTCs. It found a whole bunch of them relating to cam shaft sensor and heat sensors and other items. I cleared all these DTCs and it cleared the Service SRS urgent message. I then went for a short drive and no errors returned. I guess the computer communication system kind of has a nervous break down when one disconnects any of it's components. This BSR PPC Diagnostic tool has paid for itself many times over. http://www.ppc-diagnostic.com/
Not sure if any of the DTCs were 'for real'. I was stuck in warm weather traffic stop and go for about an hour and maybe things did warm up more than normal under the hood but I suspect it was just bits and bytes going here and there when the modules were disconnected. I guess I should have had my BSR PPC tool with to the shop where I reinstalled the audio module after getting it back from the repair guy. I had to wait until I was home to use it.

Had the same problems with CD / SRS codes, never fixed the player (sigh) but the diagnostic tool worked great.

Unfortunately, BSR has stopped production of the PPC diagnostic tool.

Well worth the couple hundred dollars. Maybe if we keep contacting them they'll reconsider...

I have the same problem with the CD unit in my HU-801. Did the shop tell you what parts they replaced to repair it?
