trunk won't open

I have a 2000 S80. The valet switch is off and I can open the trunk with the key but it will not open with the remote or by pushing the black pad under the trunk. I bought the car used 6 months ago and it worked fine. Any suggestions...

I had a similar problem with mine. The problem was not really the car, turned out I had closed the trunk lid on the handle of a duffel bag.

Solution was to have someone push down on left or right side of trunk lid while trying to open it. This worked for me but I dont know if your trunk has stuff in it or not. Hope this helps.
