98 V-90 looking for 35 + HP and around 5 MPG increase

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

With the 2.9 6 what is the best rout?
I have already blocked the hot air side of the intake and she has a fresh tune. I'm thinking exhaust mods and a chip may get me there?
Anybody got a line on a performance exhaust system for these cars and know anything about these chips?

Could be wrong here but I don't think what you want is totally possible. When you remap the engine you alter the fuel air mix so you burn more fuel but the engine uses that energy better sometimes the restrictor is removed on a remap. That chip goes inside your ECU or sits alongside, if it goes inside then your old EPROM needs to be unsoldered the new chip resoldered like all maps/chips/gizmos the figures quoted are not genunine but from ideal conditions or a very good remap on a very good day or worse a faulty remap. If you really want to spend money go get your engine ecu remapped its going to cost you more but the results are far superior to a bolt on gizmo, IPD does them but I'm sure someone else in your area will put you onto a good tuning company oh and shop around dont just go with the first one because they spout big numbers.

Research I've done into the chipping/mapping you cannot get the same bhp and torque increase and real figures would be around 10-30 bhp increase so how they can quote 50bhp/50 Torque.

Sorry if this is not what you wanted

Right now I'm only getting around 18MPG in town and 23 on the road. With the price of gas today that stinks and i would like to see at the least 22 in town and 25+ on the highway + a little extra pop. I would think that should be doable.

Really no mods available for any non turbo Volvo and none for the 6 cyl.
As for mileage, that's about it.
This is NOT the car to mod
