I have a set of 17 inch Volan wheels with from a 1997 Volvo 850R with Falken ZIEX ZE912 (205/45ZR17) tires. The wheels are in overall good shape and have no bends or warps as far as I can tell ( I can take my hands off the wheel and the car coasts along smoothly). They have a few nicks but nothing that will a passer-by will notice.
I purchased the tires new form Discount Tire Direct in September '09 and added the warranty on two of them (they are identical tires so in the event of a mishap you have two chances for new tires).
I took them off of my car lat month so they have about 5 months of wear on them.
The tires are in great shape and have not been on a trip farther away than Yorktown. My Volvo is my daily driver; I am not a drag/drift/auto-x racer. Tread wear on a the tires on teh front is expected but not severe. The rear tires are fantastic. I do not assume you would need to replace the front tires for another year or two.
The wheels have a few minor imperfections but look great to me. There are a few curb scrapes on them (none by me thankfully) but I didnt let that stop me from getting them and neither should you.
I'll post pics of my car on the old turbo twists and then with the Volans and you'll see why I bought them. They change the profile of your car dramatically.
*Complete your 850R conversion or fix a boo-boo with your current R.
