Abs rebuilders

Post by steveo1stS70 »

I need to get my Abs repaired and I'm trying to pick someone.I know of Victor,BBA,and module masters ranging from 80-140 dollars which is fine but I wanted to know if anyone has tried AutoXpressTech in Holbrook MA there advertised price to repair a module is 35 bucks. Is this to good to be true or just a great deal?

Why don;t you save yourself the money and do it yourself?

I also recommend trying it yourself. I repaired mine last week with just a soldering iron and some small gauge solder. It's usually only one point that goes bad.

I'm probably not going to try it myself because I've never soldered anything before. It crossed my mind believe me and it may still be an option.I just wanted to know if anyone has used the service I spoke of out of Mass for 35 dollars

I have never heard of them so cannot say one way or the other but I have used Victor twice and had great experience with both him and his work. He was extremely helpful and supportive in helping me when the rebuild didn't solve my problem on my V70 (it turned out to be a sensor problem and not a problem with the control module). There is also ATE (I think it's Auto and Truck Electronics) in Tennessee. I used them to fix my Saab's ABS. You might check their price also.

It all comes down to how comfortable you are with a soldering iron. I do it (soldering) everyday so I am quite comfortable with it, if you aren't comfortable with your soldering abilities there is no shame , just pick a re--builder. It it is still much cheaper than a new module.

Last year, I used module masters. I would recommend them, as I had a great experience with them.

I have been playing with radio and circuit since I was 10 years old. So I know how to solder but...
My experience with the soldering was not good, it took my a few hours: opening it, removing the goo, then finding what is wrong and resolder, no go!

So I got a rebuilt ABS unit from bba-reman for $120 and four (4) years later so far so good.

Victor Rocha replaced my ABS controller yesterday. Luckily I live less than an hour away.l It's really nice to have normal braking and no more ABS light. Highly recommended.
