Try Roberto, at Alfa Milano, on La Cienega. He has been working on my 850 for about 10 yrs now.

Well, if you find yourself way south in Orange County, there is the Swedish Mechanic on Irvine Ctr Rd [closer to the 405 than 5] just about a mile north of the El Toro Y. Stefan is the best. 949-753-1575

I recently tried Tord at 2 Guys from Sweden (Venice & Sawtelle) for a scheduled maintenance. So far I'm very encouraged.
I don't recommend Victoria Motors (Washington Blvd/Marina del Rey) - had to go 3x to for a coolant problem (which they finally got to stop leaking, but I'm not confident was fixed since it's still temperamental). I strongly don't recommend A Right Solution, which shouldn't do Volvo (they're known for Saabs). Tord showed me work done incorrectly for a Volvo, which was the second problem like that I encountered from their work. At first I was impressed, but then these problems revealed otherwise.
I've spoken on the phone to Swedish Pro-Tech (PCH /Torrance) and would definitely put them on my list of possibilities, though they're further away. Their technician says the owner knows and respects Santa Monica Saab and Volvo, so might be worth checking out.
Please post what you find out.
