Hi, there is a problem with my daughter's 2000 S70. If not careful and alarm is activated, it will draw the battery.
Giving it a 10 year old card, I don't really care about the alarm.
Is there any way I can turn this security alarm thing off? Thanks.
Ben

I'm stealing this from Lee, however I do not know if it will work on a 2000 model, because they have the antenna ring associated with the ignition key. It might be worth a shot, if it doesn't work you can always plug the relay back in.

You can bypass the entire alarm system by removing Relay 210 / 211, it is located high on the firewall, inside the car, directly below where the fuse box is. After you remove the relay the car will not start until you add a jumper wire between the socket positions associated with pins 50E and 50F on the 210 side of the relay. If you decide to permanently disable the alarm Volvo sells a dummy 210 relay that has the jumper wire built into it.

Just to be certain. A relay has two connectors, right? You mean that I can remove relay 210, then short the two sockets?

Yep. This is one of those double-size relays (210 and 211), so on the top portion of that relay, you'll want to short those 2 pins.
