2005 XC70 A/C Hot on Passenger Side

Post by adamckeefe »

i'm having a problem with my wife's 2005 XC70. the air conditioner works great on the driver's side, but it blows hot air on the passenger side. it's a US car with about 105K miles on it with no modifications or major repairs since i purchased it a couple of years ago. i'm hoping that i can fix this on my own without taking it to my mechanic, or worse - the dealership. any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

My '02 XC 70 Ocean Race edition started this half cold/half warm air a few days ago...now I have no cold air at all. I'm taking my car to the shop tomorrow and I will post on the forum what they diagnose the problem to be. I'm hoping it's not the evaporator coil ($$$$). The whole dashboard has to come out which is why it's expensive.
