I just managed to get the service light off on my '95 850 Turbo, and saw you were browsing so I thought I would give a couple of suggestions. It took me a couple of attempts, so here's a few ideas that might have made the difference for me (although I guess it could have been random). A slight difference from the instructions on this (excellent) site was to insert the pin into socket #7 first of all, and only then turn the ignition to the on position, and then press the button four times. I also tried being precise about the one second intervals between pushes, (by putting a mental 'one thousand' count between pushes). Once I got the red light, on I tried being much quicker to move to the subsequent steps.
Don't know exactly what made the difference, but after a few failed attempts using the same steps, something in these small points of attention seemed to make a difference, and the light's off now!
Good luck!

I tried the same procedure myself, but then again I was probably too slow at poking at it. It got turned off by my mechanic the following day as I had other stuff to service (no charge).

On a side note, I've noticed that some (or at least mine) 95 850s have OBDII port. I know some cars can use this port to reset. I'm not sure about this 95 850 though. Its odd that this car even has OBDII port and yet its fully functional. Most cars that had it before 1996 were either duds or non OBDII compliant. BTW, it runs some weird (ISO-9141) OBDII standard, so it may work with some code readers, but not all.

You can read up here: http://www.autotap.com/connector.html

Only the 1995 850 Non-turbos have a working port.
