what tires for 2001 v70xc ?
I need to replace tires on my '01 v70xc. 215/65/16. I do some mountain/snow driving, but mainly just normal mix of city and high.way miles typically no more than 70 to 75mph on interstate. Seems like not too many manufacturers even make the 98H that is recommended. Suggestions/experiences/testimonials? good and bad. Thanks
I just did the same research and decided on the 215/65R-16 Yokohama AVID ENVigor. I really didn't want to get another set of the Pirelli Scorpion STR's as they are very expensive for what they are. I've had the Yokohama's on for about a month now and they ride very well and seem to do better than the OEM Pirelli's on both dry and wet. Obviously I haven't tried them in the snow....
FYI these are 98V rated.
Tire Rack had a sale price of $100 per tire+shipping ($40 to Boston)
All the best,

thanks, Mark. I have a set of Yokahama AVID TRZs on my '98 S70 and still really like them after almost 25K. I had looked for something from Yokahama a while back when I first started on the V70 project, and the ENVigor wasn't out yet, so I hadn't even gone back to check Yokas again. After I posted the question, I looked a little more, came across the ENVigors (yes, at tire rack!) and came to the same conclusion you did. Thanks for confirming it.
