Loose inner tie rod 99 S80T6
My front left inner tie rod has excessive play. It goes back and forth when the car is jacked up and I apply tension on the front and back of tire. While traveling slowly and applying brakes a slight drift is noticed. Any ideas? The car recently had an alignment along with the tie rod boots replaced.

If the tie rod has play then its time to replace it. I would do both sides as long as you are geting dirty. Inspect the outer tie rods and boots as well. Once everything is tight you should get it aligned.
I am shocked the alignment guy told you he could align the car. You can't accurately align a car when there is play in the tie rods. The prper procedure is to reject the car for alignment until the tie rods and suspension have minimal or no perceiveable play.
I would discuss if they saw this or if they will re- align it when you finish putting the parts on.
If you are going to have them do the work then they should give you the alignment.
Sorry you are having trouble.
Best Wishes,
John
