740 taillights

Will the 1990-1992 740 taillights fit an 86 740? they look the same

I do not think they are the same. In some spare part list I found it is a different cataloge number for tail-lights from 1990 - 1992 compared to earlier 740's. I am talking about the 4 door sedan 744. The 5 door station wagon 745 seems to have the same cataloge number for all tail-lights

Ive seen some pics of a car with the old lights and the guy changed them to the newer ones, ill try to experiment next time im at the junkyard, that should solve my problems
