Neither my day running lites or hi/low beams work. The fuses are okay and so are the bulbs.
Some oen sais check my relays, but why would both relays be bad? Any one know of a fix for this? Foglites and aprking lites are fine

Its probably the headlight switch that is faulty ............... it is actually a switch and combined control module but does not require software to enable when its replaced as it is a CAN-Bus slave module. They have been known to fail but it is quite unusual.

Did you check ALL the fuses? There are a total of four (low and high for each side) in the underhood box and there is a fuse each for high and low that powers those circuits in the box in the passenger compartment. In addition to all of those fuses, there is also a fuse that powers the light switch module in the dash box. There is also a possibility of a shunt blowing out, too.
Good luck,
Bill

Did you get a "daytime running light failure" message? Funny thing is I'm looking at buying a 2004 V70 R, and this message popped up while I was driving it today, and the headlights -- both hi and low -- and daytime running lights would not illuminate. It has Xenons if that matters. Fuses 10 and 11 checked out ok.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll try them all.
Where are the fuses in the passenger compartment? I found what looks like relays under the dash, below the steering column.
I don't know where else to look.
Thanks!

My problem was simply fuse #1. The owner, who I was buying the car from, thought it would be only #10 or #11.
Open the driver's door and look at the hinge, then look to the right. That's the fuse box.
