?Service Transmission message deleted after oil change?

Post by 2001VolvoXC70 »

I just performed my first oil change with the dealer filter and Castrol Syntec 5W30. Happily, upon completion I noticed the message,"Transmission service required" disappeared. It was the first time the message and the orange triangle warning lamp disappeared :D . I am trying to figure out the logistics of why and how. Any thoughts?

Coincidence, most likely the tranny message will return.

Flush the tranny fluid now and make sure the tranny software has been updated.

It came on again once today for one ride, but then disappeared again the next time I started the car.Tranny fluid has been flushed and software updated less than 6 months ago. Glad to see the light and message disappeared by changing the engine oil.

I plan on sucking out and replacing the bevel gear oil and changing the b4 servo cover next. Still trying to get rid of the service abs message w/ the check engine light, abs light and traction light. :( but thats another story!!!
