My Volvo, 2002 S80 with 120,000 miles, just began a high pitch sound from the engine. With the oil cap removed, the pitch stops. Oil cap is hard to remove, and a suction is taking place at the opening to put oil into the engine. My thought was that the PCV valve may need replacing. Cannot locate where that is on this model. I would like any help possible.
Thank you

There is no PCV value. There is the Oil Trap which is located below the intake and bolted to the engine. If it was clogged, you would have pressure trying to push your oil cap off.
It sounds like something else is your issue.

There is a small rectangular box located just above where the oil filter screws in, which is attached to the motor. It has two small hoses attached to it. Do you know what that box is? Is it possibly the Oil Trap? Any comments, much appreciated.
Thank you

I'm thinking you are looking at the oil cooler. That is viewed from the bottom of the car.
The oil trap can be viewed from the top and is facing the radiator and close to the support bracket for the power steering pump and alternator.
