Outside Temperture Reading Calibration?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Outside Temperture Reading Calibration?

Post by pj8708 »

Hi Everyone,
My 07" S80 3.2 outside air temp seems to read 3-4 degrees higher than the actual ambient air temp. When I say higher, I should clarify that by saying if it's parked on a suuny day in full sun, it will read 3-4 degrees higher when first started. But after driving a while, the temperature will come down to normal reading.

Is this a faulty sensor, or can the system be cailbrated?
Thanks.

P.S. Where is the sensor?

The sensor is in the lower side of the front bumper, near the license plate area.. (small black with two cables) Remember it near the radiator and reads the air temp of this area..when you start driving the air flow lets the temp came down, near the ambient temp..

I cant be calibrated....its working great....

Thank you very much. That makes sense.
