I have a 1990 760 Turbo with a blown headgasket. I cannot remove the camshaft gear to remove the timing belt cover. The gear has 8 (?) holes and a single center bolt. Is it possible that the bolt is threaded backwards, or is there an easy way to remove the gear without the recommended tool # 5021?
Thanks.

I finally used an impact wrench and got the gear off.

a wrench will do the job, but i would suggest to have a mechanic friend just in case or might want to visit the Volvo repair..
