Something really wierd happened yesterday. We were out driving and when we got home and on the driveway the car stopped accelerating. I put it in reverse and it was fine but when I put it in drive it wouldn't go. I turned the car off and tried to restart it but it wouldn't start. It just dragged like the battery was bad. I went and got my charger and was getting ready to hook it up when I tried starting it again. Started right up and went into drive fine. I drove it for a bit and it seems to be O.K. Any idea what could be going on? It has 110,000 miles on it.
Thanks!

No idea. But this forum is filled (relatively speaking) of strange problems manifesting because of weak batteries/battery cables, and being cured by new, not recharged, batteries/new cables. It's just one of those things that you do and move on, unless you're really interested in rooting out the exact scientific explanation, and have the skills to do that, and have the time to do that.
If it's not the cables, at least you've ruled out a low cost variable. Fixing these problems is all about eliminating variables.

One of my battery cables had built up some corrosion on the terminal, and about 2 weeks ago, my AC blower motor started wildly ramping up and down when I let off the gas pedal. I was thinking for sure my climate control was dying, but I think the battery cable in tandem with my 7-yr old battery and weak alternator was confusing it.
Upon changing the cable heading to the fusebox, it works just fine now. The electrical systems in these cars are very picky about being at the specified voltages, anything below and they go crazy. Sooo, Matt is right, while it may not be the cause of your issue, it can't hurt to change them, and will eliminate something as a cause.
You may want to stop by Autozone or Advance and have them run a free battery/alternator test as well on your car.
