Hello everyone,
I am planning on getting a S60 R soon. (Manual)
in the mean time, I'd like to search about this car and get informed as much as I can.
Which years are the best models for this vehicle?
What should I be looking for?
Are there any typical problems like ETM or transmission?
Are there any recalls?
Thank you...
What is the best model for S60 R?

There's recalls on some models - fuel pump and fuel pressure sensor. Check it out on the web. Other guys are saying to avoid the 01 and 02s w/c have tranny prob. My 03 T5 is having hard starting prob and am due to have dealer do the recall fix on it for free. But besides that, car's running good and has a lot of power on takeoff

All the manual models are great, I have an 04 S60R Manual myself. The AWD on the 06 - 07 was a little better then the 04 - 05.
The one thing that affects all the manual S60Rs is the slave cylinder for the clutch going out. Another thing to keep an eye on is the timing belt and the bevel gear collar. The timing belt change is 105K but I have seen a bunch of people have the tensioner go or the belt snap way before then so I would change it at the 70K mark like the older volvos. As for the collar gear, this is more of an issue on the 04 but can affect even the newer ones. What happens is the teeth on the gear become stripped out and cause the engine power not to travel through the bevel gear to the rear wheels.
All in all, just make sure the maintenance is up to date and if the car has more then 70K miles, get the timing belt done. Other then that, have fun.

The latest model year and the lowest mileage one you can afford.
I have plenty of Rs available to me, contact me if you wish

(I've owned two, an 04 and an 06 for a total of 5 years, I know them pretty well)
