day running lights

Post by 41 shoral »

Hi. My first post. Volvo owner for 36 years now have 2003 V70 Diesel auto and want the day running lights taken off. Before on my older 240 you took out a fuse, however would appreciate how the lights can be taken off on the V70(if I can do it) or have I got to go to the dealer. Thanks for any help.

in Canada is the law to have DRL on, don't know about England.

The older V70's '00 and older you could turn them off by turning a screw on the headlight switch. Not so on the P2 volvos, so you'll have to go to the dealer to have them turn off.

Thanks for reply . It now appears the dealer has to do the job with software.

No software so make sure they don't charge you for software!
This is a simple 1 minute adjustment on Vadis/VIDA

JRL:
What is Vadis/VIDA? I want to do the same on my S60r and the dealer said it would be approximately $200(!!) to adjust the 'software'. A few others have mentioned cutting a wire in the headlight relay but i don't want to go that route.

Thanks

THERE IS NO SOFTWARE
Tell your dealer to get real.
It's a 5 minute ADJUSTMENT using VIDA

(To the person who asked, VIDA is Volvo's computer system (used to be called Vadis but is now different)
