I know exactly how you feel. Just under a year ago I bought a 1999 Volvo S70, 200k kms, as my first car. My parents owned an 850 wagon when I was growing up, and while I was a passenger in theirs, I had the belief that the 850's/S70's, and Volvo's in general, were pretty ugly cars. I checked out the S70 that I ended up buying only with my dad urging me to, but when I drove that thing I was sold. Since then my appreciation for Volvo's, especially the 850 series I originally hated, has greatly increased. My new reasonably affordable, reasonably good chances of someday finding one car is now a yellow 850 T5 R, either sedan or wagon. However, they're not getting any younger and it kills me to think I may never end up owning one. One can only hope there's on left for me when I'm in a position to find one, buy it and then pamper it to the end (I'd rather it be my end than the car's end. :P )
