I joined this forum because I drive an S70GLT. The problem is with my Mom's car, a 2004 S60 with the base engine.
Occasionally, it will turn over but not start or start and immediately stall. She'll have it towed and it will start fine. She gets all kinds of messages, lately "Transmission Service Required" or something to that effect. She has been to the dealer and numerous mechanics. She has spent a great deal of money, but the problem always comes back.
It also runs up to about 2000 rpm when it does start and then settles down.
I was visiting and put an OBD reader on it and got the code P0600 serial communication failure, among other things like a P1171 too lean bank 1 and a barometric pressure sensor.
We both had 740's that lasted well over 200k each and I love my S70, but this car only has 23,000 miles on it and has been a thorn in my side for at least the last half of that. I especially don't like my 85 year old mom stranded on a regular basis.
I know you guys are the last word on fixing these things - help me out.
Thanks,
George
