Flashing Arrow, Check Engine, ABS light

New to the forum but been searching posts for awhile. I have a 98 V70 T5. The ABS light has been going on and off for months. Check Engine Light is now on. Also the flashing up arrow came on yesterday along with the little lights by the shifter flashing from "E" to "W".
Pulled two codes P0120 and P0123. Checked transmission fluid. Level is ok, not dirty or burnt smelling.
On initial start up it is idling a little high for 30 seconds or so. TPS problem as possibly indicated by the code?
Speedometer is working. Auto transmission does shift so it doesn't seem to be "totally" in limp mode, though it seems to lack normal acceleration power. Did a bit of the ratchet shifting others have mentioned related to PNP without any change.
Not sure what else to try except replacing a few parts now.

Replace the TPS? PNP? (Doesn't seem to be stuck in 3rd gear though)
Have the ABS box rebuilt? MattyMoo where are you?

I don't think the CEL would get tripped by the brake system, so I think you have two seperate problems. Something to check regarding the ABS are the sensors and magnets at each tire. They tend to get filthy which can impede the sensors ability to measure the tire spin. You can clean them off with an old toothbrush which may help.

I'd start with the TPS.

It sounds like you've got 2 different problems here:

The ABS module is flaky. It could probably be fixed with a re-soldering, or a replacement module.

The TPS controls shifting patterns, etc., and is close to the radiator, so it is a common failure item because of the high heat. The car will still run fine without it since you have a mechanical throttle; it will just shift a little strangely.

Pulled mine and replaced with a rebuilt unit from Matthew. That got my ABS light turned off after months of intermittent flashing. Thanks Matthew.

However, still got the flashing arrow problem and little lights flashing by the gear shifter. Still setting the same codes. Next evening, replaced the TPS with a non-Bosch after market sensor. When you do this, look at the female part on the inside of the TPS. There is flat part that goes on to the flat side of the shaft... like the knob on a stove or old tv set. You may have to turn the female part inside the TPS to get it lined up with the shaft. Reset the codes again, and so far, good for a week. No CEL, no flashing arrow and transmission seems to be shifting normally again. Thanks MVS.
