Cooling Fan V40

Is it normal for a cooling fan not continue to run after motor has been turned off?
Fan had been running just before motor was turned off.

Did you mean that the fan "does not run" or "does run" after the engine is shut off?...It can run after the engine is shut off depending on how hot the engine is...When a very hot engine is shut off there is no water circulation any more and a heat-soak conditon exists that can result in localized boiling...The fan will turn on and run to help cool down...The A/C fan will do it too to dry the evaporator/heater box and prevent bad odors...
