V90 Cabin Air Filter Location?

Where is the cabin air filter located on the V90? I've looked in the passenger and driver side footwells and under the hood on the passenger side and cannot determine where they hid the filter. I was assuming this would be a fairly simple job. Thanks!

The only filter I can find listed for the AC/heater is part #27 on the attached.

If this is the cabin filter I have no instructions for its replacement.

I also have a V90 1998, and have been told it does not have an air cabin filter. I recall a thread somewhere (and perhaps not completely or accurately) that in some European models (but not US) it was possible to retrofit one, but had to compromise the firewall.

There was an aftermarket pollen filter for 700/900 series on eBay from Germany a few years back. To fit it you had to remove the panel below the wipers (metal panel on 740 & 940, plastic panel on face-lift 760 & 960) as it goes over the blower fan intake. I don't know if they are still available but they don't currently appear on eBayUK.

Does anyone know if this filter actually exists in the stock vehicles? If so, then I would think it would be dirty and clogged on the 1995-1998 960, S90 and V90s.

And is it as easy as removing the panel below the wipers?

Has anyone done this?
