I put the rear seat down and now the seat belt has been retracted to the point that I cannot return the seat to the upright position. Am ready to cut the belt. Can anyone suggest a better way?

I have the same exact problem. One of the rear seats will not go back up because the seat belt length is too short now.
I have no idea how to disassemble the seat to get to the retraction mechanism.
If you get an answer, please forward it to me at

hey ! sorry your seatbelt is causing all that trouble.all you have to do is unbolt the seatbelt.lift up the seat bottom, undo the bolt. remember not to twist seatbelt reinstalling

How do you unbolt the seatbelt? The seatback is held down by the belt and it appears that the retractor is inside or under the seatback. You can't get the seat out bacause the seatback is in the way.

it may take some work to get it unbolted to prevent this from happening in the future look at the belt once it is out you will see that a stop is missing (pin through the belt aval. separately)the belt is of inerta type and once the seat is tilted forward the inerta takes over and does not allow the belt to loosen the pin limits the belt retraction in the seat good luck.
fun to drive
