New guy!! Everyone after the new guy!!

Long time reader, first time poster. Thanks for the help everyone!

So I just "helped" the girl buy a 2001 S60 2.4t. 140k on the clock. Black / tan. Motor seemed sound and idled perfectly smoothly, trans seemed good but now it's shifting rather, uh, hard. We're going to flush it with Toyota Type IV trans fluid this monday. Ordered some Akebono brake pads for the worn fronts and some Toyo Proxes 4s! Will let you know how they work out!

The car handles pretty well! I've been scared to push it much given the bald tires and front pads worn to nothing but it corners pretty flat and pulls well in a straight line. Wish it had the steptronic for the canyons here though!

Question: it needs new rotors. Can I bump to the 12" rotors off the R (it has 17" wheels) or should I stick with the 11"s? I'm figuring the bigger front rotor would mess up the brake bias, but since we're replacing them anyways I figured I'd ask. Looking at Zimmerman rotors for 61 bux a pop.

One issue, the sunroof seems to be missing some kind of guide for the cover and the thing won't tilt and it makes a grunching sound when it slides. I have no idea what it looks like stock so any ideas what could be missing? The seller said something came out of there, Iunno what.

Make sure the tranny's stop neutral feature has been turned off.

Yes, you can upgrade to the 12" rotors but you'll need the bigger caliper holder bracket also. Caliper/pads stay the same.

Good info, I'll search the owners manual to see how to do that.

tranny's neutral stop feature is turned off by dealer or volvo shop with VADIS/VIDA software.
