papasven - you location reads "under the car" - that makes me laugh. Thanks

Where are you actually located ? Just wondering if you are in the US or overseas?

Great - let us know how things worked out.

I forgot to mention that if you release the VVT then you usually don't need any of the special tools. I go 180 forward on the crank and then back - works every time.

papa - please read the procedures I uploaded - the second one is for the VVT.

If you don't veryify the VVT is set right after you put the belt on you will get a code or damage the valves.

Compare the belt length to the one you took off. They should be the same.

Even so - they are a tight fit. I like to use something other than the cam sprockets to be the last place to push it on.
I usually line up the cams and the right side and then finish on the left. I have never done it with the crank pulley still on. Some have mentioned the pulley made it worse.

make sure the tensioner bolt is not fully tightened as well ( until you get the belt on - then tighten it)

done deal, runs like a top, thanks for the support......Now to solve that low speed rpm pulsation .... from 1200 to 200 a real bugger when it dies in an intersection. Probably the throttle body thing a ma jig. cheers I am going to celebrate timing belt success with a cigar and cool refreshment.

Sounds like a vacuum leak- check the left (passenger side) of the intake manifold for a broken rubber elbow.

I only see two such easily accessible elbows, and both seem fine
