According to this thread:

https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=30683

AviatorD had the same problem that I do. He ordered a new A/C Pressostat (the switch I bypassed with the paperclip) for $29.50 and simply unscrewed the old one and screwed on the new one. According to the that thread, underneath the Pressostat is a valve that prevents the Freon to spill out everywhere so the Pressostat can be easily replaced...

Is this true?

Also, I wondering if I will run into the same problem AviatorD had after I replace the switch...the compressor cycling on and off. Perhaps I will have to reshim with Bread/Soda Can clips as well?

What is meant by the "Gap"? What "Gap"? And Where is it located? Do I want to Increase the Gap or Decrease it? How does putting something In the Gap decrease it? You can tell I am a bit confused on this whole Shimming process...

Thanks for clarification!!

You beat me to it - I just ran across the same thing - looks like you're right. I had to replace a fill valve, and I figured it was the same kind of thing on the switch. But they were smart about that :D

The cycling is not a clutch gap issue. That will only come up if the AC is working fine, not cycling, and then all of a sudden stops working and blowing warm air.

I would try replacing that switch, and see what happens.

Great. Will do. I am going to take it to a Volvo Specialist who is pretty cheap in the area to see if he has a spare Pressostat switch in his shop. If not there, then I will buy one from FCPGroton. Either way, Ill post an update asap.

Thanks for your patience and help!

Bought a new A/C Pressostat switch from FCPGroton, which happened to be only an hour from where I lived so I went and picked up the switch and saved on shipping. Popped my hood in their parking lot, unscrewed the old one, screwed on the new one, clipped the plug back on, started the car and....... BAM! Cold Air! YES!

Just fixed my A/C system for $31.27. Not bad. :)

Thank you jablackburn for your help!

Now onto my front suspension "balljoints" (??). I just had my tires replaced and the mechanics wouldn't align my new tires because they said my ball joints in the front were super loose and needed to be replaced. Is this a possible DIY? I"m guessing not... Any suggestions?

Also, can anyone point me to the quick ABS Module fix?

THANKS AGAIN!
