Radio cross-compatibility

Just wasted $300 at the dealer to install a 2004 HU614 Cd/radio in place of the factory cassette-only radio in our 2001 V70XC. Two software licenses and 4 hours of labor later, and we were back with the old radio. The 614 worked, but the Climate Control didn't with the 614 installed. Dealer claims parts supercession for radios is not published, so how were they to know? GRRR!!!!

They're lying. Tell them to check VADIS again. Parts supercession for radio's is listed.
