Our '93 850 GLT has been sitting for 5 months unused. The battery was completely dead, but the car started right up with a jump start. Everything appears to work fine after a short test drive except for the A/C - heat.
There are no lights below the recirc air or A/C switches and the fan control appears to be dead. Essentually there is no climate control in the car. I checked the fuses under the hood (fine) and checked that the compressor had not frozen up (turns freely).
According to the Haynes manual, the little lights below the switches should flash to indicate a problem. They did not. I tried to check to see if any faults were indicated by the diagnostic unit under the hood as described, but the red light just stayed lit the entire time the ignition was on - there were no flash to indicate a fault.
Any one have any ideas short of tearing the ECC control unit out? Please let me know! thanks.
