Climate control problem

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Climate control problem

Post by pops k »

I own an 2001 S-80.

The AC/fans and other climate related controls stopped working. I checked fuses 23,24 and 25 and they seem to be fine.

Any suggestions.

Radio works as do all the other console items.

Have you noticed if the AC & Recirc lights flash when you turn on the air?

Nothing flashes. IT is almost as if there is no power to that part of the dash.

I was cleaning the gear shift cover and trim and I did remove is and then replace it last week. I didn't notice any electrical connections other than the shift level control cable. Could there be a connector in that cover that may have been disconnected.

pops k, welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

According to my fuse list, #25 has nothing to do with the climate control but #26 is the fuse for the climate control blower. How is that one?

I checked all fuses again last evening, including 26. They all appear to be ok. I even re-seated them. Still no life in that lower control panel.

Could it be a resistor problem?
