ETC ?

Post by slowroller »

so i recently bought this 99v70 w/o turbo for really cheap. it ran great for a a few thousand miles then this light came on "ETC". sometimes it will run great but most of the time it runs not so good. sometimes if i run it for a few miles and turn it off for a few minutes it will fix it. I took it to a shop and had them take off the throttle body and clean it on the bench. $200 later the car still ran like crap. I guess my question is if it is likely to be the throttle body or if it could be the etm problem i have read about on this site?

thanks

$200 to remove and clean out an ETM?? I hope you had more than just a clean otherwise thats a rip-off price and a half! Non Turbo models take no more then 5 minutes to remove an ETM......

Get the fault codes on the car read as that will point to whats wrong, it probably is the ETM but best make sure before spending a fortune - Mike
