Fill the AC

Post by K B »

I never fill AC before(Now, I have to)

The valve cap says "Max 6 N.m". I'm not sure how this "N.m" related to the pressure "Pascal - Pa".

N.m is a unit for energy. I wonder how much Pascal[Pa] I have to fill for Volvo S70 - 1998 Non turbo model.

Do you have a pressure guage with your refill kit?

Yes I do have the pressure guage but it's scale is in Psi(Pascal). How do I relate this to N.m(which volvo cap says - "Max 6 N.m). So, what is the max I have to put in "psi" ? Many thanks.

PSI is pounds per square inch, NM is newton meters. Your system should run up to 45 PSI.

I'm probably wrong, but I think the 6nm is the torque spec for the cap. 6nm ain't much, about 4.5 ft-lbs.
