Got it today (very fast shipping by Amazon for standard...) I got the Actron CP9410 PocketScan Plus and so far it works very well. Not sure about the feature that tries and tells you the "urgency" of the code it's reading. I pulled a code which was manufacturer specific and it said "Urgency Unknown". Basically I just got this so I could see the code, and then bug the guys on the forum here about it!

Using it is super easy, and it has a neat feature where you can see the status of the emissions monitors to know if you can go pass a smog test.

Also Matt, I recently saw and applied for this neat program that Amazon has got going. I know it probably doesn't apply to a lot of the members here... but if you're a college student you can get a free year of Amazon Prime with your university email and a little info. I applied for it and got it instantly. Benefits include free 2 day shipping on all purchases and other deals. Good for any broke college students like me who like to buy auto parts online.

Matt,

I've been using the link recently but it always starts at Automotive category for me. Can you send a link that directs to Amazon's homepage instead?

Thanks!

Thanks Ed! I always ride with a light at night. Good to see with, and be seen. I have a red rear-facing one also that I set to flash.

New rear O2 sensor on the way because I ordered the wrong one from FCP a while back...

At least I get to support MVS this time around!

Matt, maybe you know the answer to this Q:

I was about to buy 5 items in my Amazon cart when I realized I didn't use your link. Opening a new browser window, I clicked on your link and it still showed the items in the cart - so if I buy them, will you get the $$ or do I have to use your link, THEN add items to the cart?

I'm soo lazy that I'll wait for your reply instead of taking the 2 minutes to re-add the stuff to the cart :D

Thanks for taking the time to ask, much appreciated!

As you alluded to, you have to do it the hard way.
  • Clear your Amazon cart, or at least remove the items in question
  • Click the MVS-Amazon link
  • Find and add items to cart (within 24 hours)
  • Buy those items (within a week)
Any misstep and I don't get credit. It's Amazon's way of making you jump through hoops so they don't have to pay out as many Amazon Associate commissions. In other words, they make it hard on purpose. Just like mail-in rebates, a percentage of users will not follow each step closely, and Amazon will save the 4-6% they would have had to pay me.

(An easier way is to just click products in the MVS-Amazon Shop I set up [found in the menu above under "Volvo Parts"]. That's more of a way to browse auto parts.)

Thanks to you and everyone who takes the extra time and effort to credit my Associate account!

[I just realized these are posted under a strange-looking account. Obviously, this is me, posting from a browser that is logged into MVS under one of my MVS test accounts -- Matt]

OK, gotcha. Just cleaned out the cart, followed your link and (re)ordered up a little gift for myself - a new Kenwood head unit and two pair of Boston Acoustics speakers. Think I did it right so you'll get some cake from my $218.00 purchase!
