i have just recently bought a 1984 240gl (australian complied).
i boughtit for $150 AUD and have spent close to $1500 on it
basically it is still running to buggery, i have had all belts replaced (inclding timing) the whole ignition system has been replaced etc.
I have just noticed, under the inlet manifold, there is a ole where i believe a pipe should go on, a vacuum hose or something otherwise.
There is also some stupid hose "hub" thing" near my battery, that about 5 pipes go to, can anyone explain to me what is going on with my 240gl?!
there is a pic of where i believe a pipe should be connecting to here

Photos of this "stupid hub thing" would help. Sounds like the fuel distributor, but I could be wrong.
That does look like it should have a vacuum line attached, check to make sure you still have all your vac. lines. It looks like it should go to your distributor vac. advance.
Does the car run fine, with a slightly high idle?

hmm, i just checked under my bonnet, the spark plug distributor is connected to the inlet by another pipe, u can see this pipe wrapping around in front of the foto.
the plug on the inlet manifold that i am trying to figre out where it goes is just in front of the pipe that ends up at the disributor, bluddy thing, lol.
