I'm having trouble on my 99 V70. The ignition appears to frequently stay in the accessory position even when the key is moved to the off and withdrawn. After a few dead batteries, I now leave the radio on all the time.
A few on/offs will eventually catch the ignition switch in the true off position. I never have any trouble getting the key out but I can sometimes spin the key all the way around in the cylinder.
Is it likely that I just need to just replace the electrical part of ignition switch itself -45$ of fcpgroton (which looks like one can do without boring out the bolts and replacing the entire cylinder) or is it more complicated and require complete dissassembly of the steering column.
Radio/acc Stays on with the key out

Sounds like just the electrical portion of the ignition switch to me. That's where I'd start, anyway.
