2003 C70 Transmission Problem

I have a 2003 C70 automatic with 90,000 miles on it. Here is the problem I am having with the transmission: Under normal driving conditions, the car shifts fine up through the gears. It will also downshift when I slow down without an issue. But, if I have to come to a hard stop, say from 60 to 0mph, the transmission will 'bang' when it goes from 2nd gear to 1st.
It doesn't happen all the time, it seems only when I've been driving for awhile and only when I have hard stops. Under normal driving and a slow, progressive stop, it downshifts fine. The upshift is always O.K.

Has anyone experienced this? I don't want to spend the money on a full rebuild if there is an easier solution.

check the tranny and motor mounts, It doesn't sound like a tranny issue.

How is the tranny fluid?

It IS a tranny issue.
You can try to flush the trans, install any software updates and RESET THE ADAPTIONS (dealer) and have them do the proper drive cycle.
This should help
