The 850 T-5 and the Turbo models both have the same hp... whats the difference between the two? And why does the T-5 version get more hp out of an ECU upgrade then the Turbo version? thanks.

T-5 is the same thing as turbo. It's just that Volvo changed the official name for Turbo to T-5 either in 96 or 97, I'm not sure on that.

A T-5 may get horsepower on the upgrade because it's newer. Simply meaning that some of the components around it are slightly updated, just going out on a limb on that one but that's my guess.

It may have something to do with the OBDII which was required and installed in 96 and later models.
