i was in the middle of doing the inner/outer tie rod replacemet on my car... i cant get the inner tie rod loose. i tried relentlesly to turn it (with a pipe wrench, among others) and it wont budge. i also added a little heat to it.
i know volvo makes a special tool, but is rather pricey (like $200). anyways, wondering if anyone had any ideas or know of a place to get the proper tool.
thanks!
inner tie rod tool?

You can find the tool for rent at many parts stores. Oreilly Auto Parts has it with all the fittings you need to make it work and you get your money back when you return it!
You'll need a half inch drive ratchet with a long handle at least or better yet, borrow an impact wrench if you can.

that is a great idea j5t. wish i had a grinder...though i dont know if that would have been enough for mine (it was in there very tight) the volvo tool has a counterhold on it that prevents stress on the rack. anyways i ended up taking it to the shop haha.
